Catalog description

Fungal pathogens are an increasing global health concern. This course examines the diversity of medically important fungi, their interactions with host immunity, therapeutic control methods, and the mechanisms underlying resistance to antifungal agents. Discussions of primary research papers will introduce students to emerging topics in medical mycology. The skills gained in this course will support future careers in medicine and biotechnology.
