Catalog description

Completion of supervised dietetics practice rotations in clinical and food service management is a requirement for students enrolled in the Cornell Dietetic Internship (DI). Students will experience many facets of dietetics practice including outpatient nutrition services, general medical and surgical care, intensive care, and specialty areas of practice such as oncology, endocrinology, and pediatrics research. Additionally, rotations provide experiences for students to work with staff managers to learn how to effectively direct and manage food service operations. Rotations are designed for students to attain relevant Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) competencies for Registered Dietitian Nutritionists (CRDNs).
