Introduction to Western Art Music

This course offers an introduction to the history and culture of Western art music, commonly known as classical music. While sketching an overview of important works, events, places, figures, and movements from the medieval period up to the present day, the course will focus on providing students with the knowledge, vocabulary, and listening skills required to locate themselves in relation to this vast and diverse body of music.
