Catalog description

Provides an atomic and molecular understanding of materials properties from underlying fundamental chemistry and physics. Develops quantum mechanics for understanding chemical bonding, electronic band structure, and quantum electronic devices. Physical organic chemistry is expanded to include molecular orbitals and hybridization, reactivity, crystal/ligand field theory, sol-gel chemistry. Materials addressed span the full range of modern applications including polymers, biopolymers, inorganic and organic semiconductors, silicate glasses, optical materials, and nanoparticles.
