Catalog description

Today’s smart devices have multiple wireless sensors such as acoustic, WiFi and Lidar. These sensors can enable sensing of both static objects and any motion activity in the environment. Researchers have shown that they can detect physiological signals, can track robots, enable gesture recognition and even detect composition of soil and quality of alcohol. This project based course focusses on the foundation of wireless sensing technologies and its application in various domains. The course covers the fundamentals of wireless sensing including wireless signal properties, propagation and signal processing algorithms. It will then introduce the students to various applications of wireless sensing across various domains including health, robotics, self driving cars, precision agriculture and human computer interfaces.
