Catalog description

This course is for students with no previous knowledge of Indonesian or Malay language. Students will acquire sufficient vocabulary to comprehend and articulate Indonesian phrases with pronunciation understood by native speakers. This will enable them to engage in simple interactions, express basic needs, and behave appropriately in Indonesian environments. Cultural information will be taught in English. Indonesianists of Cornell share fun information about their fields of expertise regarding Indonesia. 80% of the course, the Bahasa Indonesia language component, will be practiced.
