Focuses on the Bill of Rights (especially the First, Fourth, Fifth Amendments) and the Fourteenth Amendment, with issues including freedom of speech and association, equal protection, privacy, due process, and other issues in the area of political and civil rights. The course entails a high level of student participation in class discussion, and assignments include a research paper.
