In this course, we will learn about and research the long history of Latino/x/e Civil Rights struggles in the United States. Beginning with the incorporation of Mexican nationals in the 19th century, the course will cover the motivations, strategies, and outcomes of Latine Civil Rights movements through the 20th and 21st centuries. This course will focus on New York, Los Angeles, San Antonio, and Miami as epicenters of numerous civil rights struggles led by a diversity of Latino/x/e Groups.
