International Political Economy

Catalog description

This course examines the politics of international economic relations. It focuses on the sources of national economic policies affecting trade, exchange rates, and all forms of international investment. Three interrelated facets of politics are emphasized throughout this course: the distributional consequences of international economic policy; political cleavages among both states and domestic interest groups; and the national and international institutions that channel and ameliorate these conflicts. The goal for this course is to understand the debates surrounding each of these topics.
