Catalog description

This course provides students with the theoretical tools to analyze and interpret fashion’s social and cultural significance. Drawing on sociology, anthropology, philosophy, and political theory, students will examine contemporary expressions of fashion and explore the ideological motivations of designers, curators, companies, and subcultures. The curriculum emphasizes the transformative role of fashion in shaping identities, institutions, and markets.
