Catalog description

This course introduces methods for environmental systems planning and management. We will analyze system dynamics and stability and use numerical simulation to propagate uncertainty and quantify risks. Optimization methods (search techniques, linear programming, integer programming) will be used for systems design and management. Examples will draw from a variety of environmental systems, including air, water, and soil pollution and the electric power system.
