Catalog description
This course will introduce students to the broad diversity of raptors and their biology throughout the world. Sections of the course will cover raptor diversity, anatomy and physiology, raptor biology and conservation management, raptor medicine, captive raptor husbandry and management and the role of falconry in raptor conservation. Specific areas will cover the different types of raptors, including hawks, eagles, accipiters, buteos, falcons, owls, and vultures with reference to current research at Cornell and around the world.
