A lecture course that covers carbon chemistry, bonding structure and behavior, aliphatic compounds, stereochemistry, reaction mechanisms, and an introduction to spectroscopic methods. Three hours lecture per week. Credit, three semester hours. (Prerequisite: CHE 1223/1221)
