Introduction to Astronomy

Catalog description

This is a HYBRID class, meeting one day a week to explore with the planetarium or the observation deck (it's fun, very helpful, and better than purely online). It is a descriptive course, so no math calculations will be required. There are recorded lectures in the Canvas modules that you are required to work through. The required text (about $65) is available in the CCC bookstore. There are assignments throughout the week. Three midterms and a comprehensive final exam are required and given in-person at the usual meeting times. You should expect to read, watch lectures, and do assignments for about 1 hour each day for effective, stress-reduced learning.
