Catalog description

Investigates how international networks and interactions shaping GDR literature offer an alternative model for understanding World Literature today, while also evaluating East German literary production and international exchanges against critiques of World Literature. Students receive a panoramic overview of GDR literature from 1949 to its afterlife in contemporary German writing, and a grounding in World Literature Studies.
