Catalog description

This course reviews statistical methods commonly applied in nursing, medical, and public health research settings by focusing on secondary analyses of existing data. Parametric and non-parametric estimation and testing methods appropriate for univariate, bivariate, and multivariate data are covered. Data preparation techniques and statistical software options are introduced. Sources of public as well as investigator-controlled data will be considered. Students will gain hands-on experience by conducting a comprehensive statistical analysis of an existing health-related dataset.
