Evidence-based Practice for Primary Care of Pediatric and Perinatal Population

This graduate-level course prepares Family Nurse Practitioner students to deliver primary care to pediatric and perinatal populations. Through the application and analysis of developmental, clinical, and theoretical knowledge, students will assess, diagnose, and manage acute and chronic health conditions in children and childbearing women. Emphasis is placed on culturally sensitive care planning, interdisciplinary collaboration, and the integration of social determinants of health into clinical decision-making. Students will evaluate the use of health information technologies and apply ethical, legal, and professional principles to support accountable, evidence-informed practice. The course fosters critical thinking and clinical judgment within interprofessional teams and equips students to promote health equity and optimal outcomes in diverse primary care settings.
