Catalog description

Examines the scientific foundations that inform the practice of ecosystem restoration, the field that assists the recovery of ecosystems that have been degraded or destroyed, as well as conserving intact ecosystems. Students will analyze fundamental ecological theory and its relevance to restoration practice, evaluate appropriate experimental design for making inferences about restoration outcomes, evaluate contemporary topics within the field, and consider social and spatial elements when formulating restoration plans.
