Catalog description

Consideration of Jews as a foil for western, particularly western Christian identities. The role that anti-Judaism and antisemitism have played in western culture from the ancient period to the present day. Representations of Jews, shifting and long-lasting fears and suspicions about Jews, and the impact of anti-Judaism and antisemitism on the development of conceptions of race and difference in western societies.
