Catalog description

This course focuses on the study and application of quantitative research methods (experimental, quasi-experimental, and non-experimental designs) in nursing and healthcare. Different measurement types, as well as theories and methods of instrument development, to support such designs will be emphasized. The course is designed (a) to provide each student with a solid foundation of knowledge pertaining to research methodology, (b) to develop skills in research design and scholarly review, and (c) to develop and maintain critical appraisal skills, written and spoken, needed to succeed as a scholar.
