Catalog description
This course teaches students the principles of legal research and focuses on locating and analyzing case law, statutes, regulations, and other legal authorities and secondary sources to solve legal problems. Students will apply research to writing legal memoranda and other practical writing exercises. Students are trained in the use of WESTLAW computerized legal research and alternative electronic research methods. Both federal and Wisconsin materials are used extensively in this course. Prerequisites: (PLGL 101 or 1020 ).
