Catalog description

This course will focus on the clinical management of the “poisoned” patient. Students will be exposed to the clinical presentation and treatment of patients experiencing toxicity from medications and biologicals. This course will review and reinforce the student’s knowledge of the fundamentals of pharmacology and toxicology. The course will re‐emphasizing critical objectives with regard to the mechanisms of action, absorption, distribution, metabolism, elimination in addition to clinical practice and treatment. Prerequisites: Satisfactory completion of the Pharmacology and medicinal chemistry series. Prerequisites: (PHAR 434 or 6330 ).
