Catalog description

This course presents students with an overview of the legal requirements of providing an education for children and youth with disabilities. Students will examine the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and how it ensures students with disabilities receive appropriate educational and related services, including parental rights and responsibilities. Other laws affecting the education and treatment of students with disabilities will also be examined. Prerequisite: minimum score of 01 in 'Upper Division Status'.
