Catalog description

This class is a comprehensive study of the elements of route alignment including horizontal circular and spiral curves, combinations of circular and spiral curves, vertical curves, centerline and offset staking for rough and finished grade. The course includes the application of all elements of route design, construction staking and earthwork volume determination in a comprehensive integrated project format. Manual calculations are reinforced with the use of computer software such as Autodesk Civil 3-D. To improve student success, it is recommended that students complete MATH 1148 prior to or concurrently with this course.
