Introduction to Child Protective Services

Catalog description

This course introduces students to the child protective services area of social work and human services. This course will provide students with an overview of the structure of Child Protective Services (CPS) in the state of Ohio. Additionally, students will gain an understanding of the history of CPS in the United States, including past and current legal requirements. Students will explore the various types of child abuse, maltreatment, and neglect.
