Catalog description

This course provides the thirty (30) hours of required addictions specific content for the advancement of the temporary Chemical Dependency Counselor Assistant (CDCA Preliminary), to the renewable Chemical Dependency Counselor Assistant (CDCA – Renewable) as required by the Ohio Chemical Dependency Professionals Board. The following areas of content are included: Theories of addiction, addiction and treatment knowledge, assessment, treatment planning, individual and group counseling and ethics/professionalism. This course can be taken as a technical elective for MULT or SAHS. AAS degree seeking or certificate students. This course must be completed with a “C” or higher.
