Catalog description

This course is the first of a 2 course sequence required to be eligible for a national exam to become a certified phlebotomist. The course will include various blood collection and handling procedures, using a variety of techniques and equipment. To support these skills, other topics included in this course are: safety, the healthcare system, point of care testing, quality assurance and medical legal issues. A 60 hour clinical experience is required in this course.
