Catalog description

This course introduces medical assisting students to theories beyond the basic entry-level knowledge. The advanced skills will include vital signs, telephone, in-person screenings, minor surgery in the medical office, physical agents to promote tissue healing, and assistance with both routine and specialty examinations. Medical conditions and diseases treated in the medical office by the various medical specialties will be studied. Student must be accepted into the Medical Assisting Technology program before scheduling this course. Student must be admitted to the MAT program.
