Catalog description

This course introduces students to the techniques and procedures used in the collection and processing of clinical specimens within a medical office setting. Instruction and hands-on practice will include electrocardiograms (EKG), pulmonary function testing (PFT), capillary puncture, venipuncture, urinalysis, CLIA-waived testing, and basic microbiology procedures. Students are required to demonstrate competency in laboratory skills through instructor-guided check-off evaluations.
