Catalog description

This course will examine current issues, social problems, and existing research related to culturally diverse societies and the American Criminal Justice System. Emphasis will be placed on the need for cultural awareness and diversity education, an enhanced understanding of cultural differences, and a critical thinking and research approach that correlates with the exploration of diversity and equity criminal justice field. Students will be introduced to and learn to recognize the concept of implicit bias as it relates to all practices within the justice system.
