Catalog description

This is an introductory course in general chemistry, organic chemistry, biochemistry, and laboratory techniques. Topics include atomic structure, periodic classification of elements, stoichiometry, solutions, acids and bases, pH and buffers, the study of carbon compounds organized according to functional groups, carbohydrates, lipids, proteins, enzymes, and nucleic acids.
