Catalog description

This course introduces foundational sculptural practice, focusing on techniques, concepts, creative strategies, and exploring form in three-dimensional space. Materials introduced will lend significance to expressive, critical, and creative thinking related to the self and the world at large. Sculpture encompasses a multitude of concepts. Students will be introduced to a variety of materials and their inherent properties, while developing basic technical skills. Emphasis will be given to experimentation, problem-solving, and the integration of traditional and contemporary mixed-media approaches.
