Catalog description

This course is restricted to students presently studying under the direction and oversight of an approved apprenticeship program, working in partnership with Columbus State Community College. This class teaches state-of-the-art technology in underground installation of utilities. The student learns the proper and safe methods of operating a computer simulator in the classroom followed by hands-on training in the field operating an actual directional drilling machine. Students will be given hands-on opportunity to learn the techniques to successfully make a bore, which includes machine set-up, boring, and reaming.
