Advanced Trench Safety and Excavation

Catalog description

This course is restricted to students presently studying under the direction and oversight of an approved apprenticeship program, working in partnership with Columbus State Community College. This class is designed for students who have experience operating excavators or backhoes. Topics covered include OSHA Excavation Standards, safe operation of equipment, handling and installing trench boxes, locating and avoiding underground hazards, and the role of the competent person.
