Catalog description

The purpose of this course is to study the theoretical foundations of health behavior in health promotion and disease prevention. This course will explore the interactions between personal behaviors, the social environment, and health status. These relationships will be examined from a theoretical perspective. There will be an emphasis on practical application of course material to real-world issues to address health disparities, reduce disease risk, and promote health. The course is intended for graduate students and health professionals who will be actively involved in addressing public health issues through research, policy, and practice.
