Catalog description

An examination and study of literature, curricula, psychological issues, and teaching practices related to cultural differences in education settings. Critically examines how traditional education promotes or hinders student success; identifies elements of culturally responsive pedagogy and their application to curriculum development and learning. Students will use their knowledge of culturally relevant and critical pedagogy to develop and implement lessons that create students as agents of change. Students will also use methods of project-based instruction to create lessons that engage learners with real-world challenges and multicultural education.
