Introduces the language, cultural practices, and perspectives of Spanish-speaking communities both locally and globally. Cultivates listening, speaking, reading, writing, and intercultural competence through conversation, cultural exploration, and other activities. Designed for beginners as the first of three in the sequence of First-year Spanish courses. Prerequisite: placement into MTH 65 or MTH 98. Prerequisite/concurrent: WR 121 or WR 121Z. Audit available.
