Studies literary works by Native American authors whose works are fundamental to American literature. Considers Native American texts, which may include oral traditions, novels, plays, poems, film, and manifestos. Analyzes texts’ historical, cultural, geographical, and political contexts. Prioritizes Native American experience, worldview, and intellectual traditions in the study of their literature. Prerequisite/concurrent: WR 121 or WR 121Z. Audit available.
