Explores the modern teaching profession and the benefits associated with being an elementary school teacher in the 21st century. Provides real-life classroom experience, bringing students into K-5 instructional settings issues and trends. Focuses on use of the NAEYC Code of Ethics to guide daily practices and decision-making. Prepares students to become advocates for children, families, self and the profession. Prerequisite: placement into IRW 115 or WR 115. Audit available.
