Catalog description

This hands-on course equips aspiring performers and producers with the skills to launch and sustain their own performance projects. Students will learn to develop and manage a production from concept to execution, covering artistic vision, legal and financial aspects, and practical considerations. By studying successful independent theatre companies-especially in Chicago-students will see how passion, vision, and perseverance drive success. The course emphasizes budgeting, marketing, and community engagement while fostering innovation, collaboration, and problem-solving. Through hands-on projects, students will gain the confidence and tools to bring their creative visions to life.
