Catalog description
This introductory course focuses on the fundamental principles of musical theatre and calls for students to apply their knowledge of basic scene structure, acting techniques, and musicianship to material from the musical theatre repertoire. The students study both contemporary & Golden-Age repertoire and perform a solo number and a Golden-Age two-person scene with an eye towards introducing the synthesis of text, song, vocal technique, character objectives, and tactics to further the dramatic life of the material. Course is offered in the Fall.
