What is gender? What does it mean to be "male," "female," or "beyond the binary"? In this course, we'll explore how gender is constructed, lived, and contested across cultures and history. From families and workplaces to media and the arts, we'll examine how gender intersects with race,?ethnicity, class, sexuality, national origin and power, shaping everyday lives. Through readings, discussions, films, and creative projects, you will connect theory to lived experience, developing tools for questioning inequality and imagining more just societies.
