2 sectionsNo open sections · 2 checked
Catalog description
In this class, we explore what popular culture is, why it matters, and how it reflects and influences society. We'll look at a variety of cultural forms, rituals, objects, and texts-from food, fashion, and festivals to television shows, toys and technology. You'll learn how to think critically about the cultural messages we encounter every day and develop tools to analyze them through readings, discussions, and creative projects. Whether you're a pop culture fan or a curious skeptic, as we make familiar things strange, this course will help you see the everyday world in new ways.
