Catalog description

This course addresses the diversity in race, ethnicity, gender, religion, and other intersectionalities in the Deaf and Sign Language Interpreting communities. In addition, the experiences, histories, and systems of Power & Privilege that impact these diverse groups are also studied. Guest presenters, class lectures, and professional development opportunities will allow students to experience the richness of diverse communities and gain insight that can be applied to their everyday lives and their future sign language interpreting experiences.
