Catalog description
An exploration of the chemistry behind art, color, and materials. Students study the structure and properties of natural and synthetic fibers, dye chemistry, and the interaction of light and matter in color formation. Topics may include chemical reactions, colorants, pigments, paints, and natural dye extraction. Class activities connect scientific concepts with artistic processes through hands-on exploration of color and materials.
