This experiential learning course immerses students in the art, business, and techniques of capturing the vibrancy of events such as music, weddings, sports, protests, performances, and community gatherings. Students explore technical aspects of event photography, including working with still and moving image technologies, overcoming lighting challenges, capturing movement, and composing images in fast-paced environments. Students will develop their existing interests and portfolios through critiques, with guidance to refine their style and technique. Through this course, students will gain a comprehensive understanding of how to build a sustainable career in event photography.
