Queer Literature

Catalog description

What is queer literature? As a class focused on the practice of reading, we will engage in deep dives of canonical and contemporary texts across multiple genres authored by authors from diverse backgrounds and identities. Using key concepts and insights drawn from queer theory, we'll consider the legacy and future of LGBTQAI+ literature. Discussions will be designed to invite you to critically engage in collaborative dialogue to allow you to better understand the power and purpose of queer literature in terms of both content and form. The class will help you develop tools to analyze literature while also making your own connections to the texts-personal, political, and aesthetic.
