Catalog description
This course covers the fundamental process of illustration, from conceptual development to the application of traditional and digital media. Students will explore essential principles of visual storytelling, composition, and design while analyzing contemporary illustration markets, trends, and techniques. Through guided projects, they will develop a personal process and illustrative style, connecting their unique artistic viewpoint to market demands. Emphasis is placed on refining craftsmanship, advancing technical skills, and producing professional-quality artwork suitable for inclusion in a personal portfolio. This studio course prepares students for advanced study and practice in the field of illustration.
