Nature and Environmentalism

In this course, we'll look at the stories humans tell about their relationship to the non-human natural world and how those stories shape the ways we protect-or sometimes exploit-the world around us. Together, we'll explore the idea of "nature" as a profoundly human conception while questioning the idea of "nature" as something separate from humans. You'll be invited to think critically about your relationship to the environment, reflect on how people and environments are deeply intertwined, and imagine more just and inclusive futures for people and the planet.
