Intro to Feminist & Queer

Catalog description

In this course, you'll dive into the histories of LGBTQ+, feminist and gender rights movements and explore how the fields of Gender Studies and Queer Studies came to be. Together, we'll ask critical questions about gender, sexuality, and identity by investigating how systems of power-like patriarchy and heteronormativity-shape people's lives, both in the past and today. We will also highlight the ways individuals and communities challenge and reimagine systems of power.
